Salisbury Steak With Dill Stroganoff Sauce

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/2 lb mushroom
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon dill weed
- 1 dash salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Recipe
- 1 salisbury steak.
- 2 in a large bowl combine bread crumbs, onion, ketchup, egg, salt and pepper and blend well.
- 3 add beef and mix well, being careful not to overmix.
- 4 shape beef mixture into 6 oval patties, approximately 1/2 inch thick.
- 5 broil to desired doneness, approximately 4 minutes on each side.
- 6 stroganoff sauce.
- 7 rinse mushrooms, pat dry and slice to desired thickness. (not everyone likes mushrooms so i leave them chunky so they are easier to pick out).
- 8 melt butter in a large skillet.
- 9 add mushrooms, onion, garlic and paprika and saute until mushrooms and onions are soft.
- 10 add cream of chicken soup, water, dill, salt and pepper, and sour cream. continue cooking for approximately 5 minutes.
- 11 at this point you can either serve patties with sauce on the side, or throw the patties into the sauce to infuse the flavor for a minute or two.
- 12 serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or veggie of choice.
