Salisbury Steak With Mushroom Sauce

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 6 hamburger patties (each about 1/2-inch thick)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3/4 lb mushroom, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil in large non-stick skillet.
  • 2 cook patties approximately.
  • 3 4 min per side.
  • 4 season with salt& pepper.
  • 5 remove from pan.
  • 6 keep warm.
  • 7 return pan to heat and add butter.
  • 8 cook onions and mushrooms about 5 minutes or until tender.
  • 9 sprinkle with flour.
  • 10 cook 3 minutes longer.
  • 11 add milk, worc.
  • 12 sauce, salt, pepper and paprika.
  • 13 bring to a boil.
  • 14 reduce heat.
  • 15 cook gently, uncovered, 4-5 minutes.
  • 16 return patties to pan and cook 5 minutes or til cooked through.
  • 17 taste and adjust seasonings, if necessary.
  • 18 sprinkle with parsley.
  • 19 **you can use thin minute steaks instead of hamburgers but cook steaks for 2 minutes in step 5 or til cooked through.
