Peskyleo's Peppercorn Steak

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns, crushed
  • 2 steaks, strip or 2 top sirloin steaks
  • 2 -3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup red wine or 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Recipe

  • 1 rub pepper over both sides of steaks.
  • 2 refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • 3 in an un-greased skillet, over medium high heat, brown steaks on both sides.
  • 4 add butter and garlic; cook 4-6 minutes turning steaks once.
  • 5 add worcestershire and cook 4-6 minutes longer, turning once or until meat is done.
  • 6 remove steaks and keep warm.
  • 7 combine wine or beef broth, mustard, sugar and add to the pan. stir to loosen brown bits.
  • 8 combine cornstarch and water until smooth, then add to the pan.
  • 9 bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  • 10 serve with steaks.
