Salisbury Steak With Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon instant minced onion
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 4 ounces canned mushrooms, liquid drained, and reserved
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1/4 teaspoon bottled browning sauce
- 1/3 cup minced onion
- 1/3 cup green pepper, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 2 tablespoons minced chives or 2 tablespoons green onion tops
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 dash paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Recipe
- 1 sauce;.
- 2 in a small saucepan, melt butter and saute onion until soft.
- 3 stir in flour and pepper;blend well.
- 4 add mushrooms and bouillon.
- 5 add reserved mushroom liquid and enough water to make 1 1/4 cups; stir and cook until thickened.
- 6 stir in browning sauce.
- 7 keep warm while preparing steaks.
- 8 salisbury steaks:.
- 9 in a skillet, saute onion, green pepper, celery and garlic in butter over low heat.
- 10 remove from heat and add to remaining ingredients;mix well.
- 11 shape into six patties, about 3/4 in thick.
- 12 place on broiler rack
- 13 broil about 7 minutes; turn and broil about 5 minutes longer or until cooked through.
- 14 serve with sauce.
