Cuban Ham Rolls

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 ham steak, diced
  • 1 green pepper, finely diced
  • 1 red pepper, finely diced
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 (12 ounce) packages crescent rolls
  • 3/4 cup apricot jam

Recipe

  • 1 buy the large, thick ham steak with the bone in and dice, removing the bone and fat. finely dice the onion & peppers.
  • 2 heat oil in large skillet and start to saute ham. then add onions and peppers and cook till softened. add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
  • 3 let filling cool, then put a spoonful on the short end of each crescent, then roll to seal. bake according to roll pkg directions.
  • 4 melt jam in microwave till spreadable. brush on rolls during the last 3-4 minutes.
  • 5 any laftover filling can be used in scambled eggs or tossed into hot pasta.
