Bacon Wrapped Steak With Balsamic Onion Sauce

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1/4 cup canola oil 
- 2 medium onions, sliced thin 
- 1/8 teaspoon salt 
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper 
- 1/4 cup sugar 
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar 
- 1 1/2-2 tablespoons canola oil 
- 1 lb filet mignon, cut in 4 pieces 
- 4 slices bacon 
-  crushed black peppercorns 
Recipe
- 1 sauce. 
- 2 in a large frying pan heat oil over high heat. 
- 3 add onions and lower the heat to medium. 
- 4 add salt& pepper mix thoroughly. 
- 5 sweat onions down for about 15 minutes stirring often. 
- 6 you want the onions very soft. 
- 7 add sugar and reduce heat to low. 
- 8 mix well& cook 5-10 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed. 
- 9 add balsamic vinegar. 
- 10 mix well cook for 20-40 minutes until sauce becomes a dark rich syrup. 
- 11 steak. 
- 12 pre-heat ove to 450 degrees. 
- 13 heat oil in a oven proof skillet. 
- 14 wrap a piece of bacon around each filet, secure with toothpick if needed. 
- 15 sprinkle steaks with crushed peppercorns. 
- 16 sear each side of filets about 2 minutes. 
- 17 place skillet in oven and bake 10 minutes. 
- 18 steakes will be medium rare. 
- 19 remove filets from skillet.
