Skillet Barbecued Chicken

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (3 1/2 lb) chicken, cut into eight pieces (i use boneless skinless chicken breasts)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup steak sauce
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Recipe

  • 1 in a large deep skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • 2 add onion and garlic and cook for 5- 7 minutes, or until the onion is tender.
  • 3 season chicken with salt& pepper and add to the skillet.
  • 4 cook chicken 8- 10 minutes, turning to brown on all sides.
  • 5 meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine the steak sauce, tomato sauce, sugar, worcestershire sauce, pepper sauce and chili powder.
  • 6 add to the skillet, cover and cook 35 to 40 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink inside, stirring occasionally.
