Skillet Barbecued Chicken

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (3 1/2 lb) chicken, cut into eight pieces (i use boneless skinless chicken breasts)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup steak sauce
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
Recipe
- 1 in a large deep skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- 2 add onion and garlic and cook for 5- 7 minutes, or until the onion is tender.
- 3 season chicken with salt& pepper and add to the skillet.
- 4 cook chicken 8- 10 minutes, turning to brown on all sides.
- 5 meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine the steak sauce, tomato sauce, sugar, worcestershire sauce, pepper sauce and chili powder.
- 6 add to the skillet, cover and cook 35 to 40 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink inside, stirring occasionally.
