Pepper Steak

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb round steak, sliced into thin strips (cut across grain)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup green onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green peppers, cut in 1 in squares (can also use yellow and red peppers)
  • 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup water

Recipe

  • 1 combine soy sauce, garlic and ginger. add steak, toss and set aside while cutting up vegetables.
  • 2 in a large pan heat oil until lightly smoking.
  • 3 add steak and cook until browned, cover and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes (may need to add a little water).
  • 4 turn heat back up and add vegetables.
  • 5 stir until vegetables are tender crisp, about 10 minutes.
  • 6 mix cornstarch with water, and add to pan; stir and cook until thickened. eat plain or serve over rice.
