Low-fat Crock Pot Pepper Steak

Total Time: 8 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 8 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 lbs round steaks, cut into strips
  • 2 small onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 (14 ounce) can nonfat beef broth
  • 3 bell peppers, sliced lengthwise
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 1/2 cup skim evaporated milk

Recipe

  • 1 trim all fat from steak and cut into strips.
  • 2 place 1 teaspoon of oil in a nonstick skillet and lightly brown the steak.
  • 3 place steak in bottom of slow cooker.
  • 4 next, combine beef broth, milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, cornstarch and worcestershire sauce and pour on top of beef strips.
  • 5 place sliced peppers and onions on top of sauce.
  • 6 turn slow cooker to low and cook for 8 to 10 hours.
  • 7 this is good served over rice or garlic mashed potatoes.
