Marinated Creole Steaks (steak Strips)

Total Time: 5 hrs 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 cups bourbon
  • 1 lb lean top round steak (1-inch thick)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)

Recipe

  • 1 marinate beef in bourbon for at least 1 hour (up to 8 hours) in the refrigerator.
  • 2 remove from marinade, and pat dry with paper towels.
  • 3 combine all remaining ingredients, mixing well; press evenly into both sides of steak.
  • 4 grill 12-14 minutes at 140f for rare or 160f for medium, turning once.
  • 5 serve as whole steaks or cut steak diagonally into thin slices.
