My Chicken Fried Steak

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 6 cube steaks
  • 1/2 teaspoon cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup wine
  • 38 saltine crackers, finely crushed
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2-1 tablespoon season salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 4 cups peanut oil

Recipe

  • 1 sprinkle 1/2 t. cajun seasoning and wine over steak. let set 1 hour or overnight.
  • 2 mix crackers, 1 cup flour, baking powder, and remaining seasonings in a bowl.
  • 3 mix buttermilk and egg in separate bowl.
  • 4 place 1/2 cup flour in separate bowl.
  • 5 dip steak in flour, then egg mixture then in seasoned cracker crumbs.
  • 6 fry coated steaks in a skillet with peanut oil until golden brown. keep steaks warm in a 225 oven until ready to serve.
  • 7 you can make your cream gravy from the pan drippings.
