Simmering Steak Dinner

Total Time: 2 hrs 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 1/2-2 lbs inside round simmering steak
  • 1 green pepper, seeded and cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 large sweet onion, peeled and cut into bite sized chunks
  • 4 large garlic cloves, peeled and slide into thick slices
  • 6 carrots, cleaned and cut into bite sized chunks
  • 1 (8 ounce) package mini bella mushrooms, cleaned and cut into quarters
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • lowry season salt, to taste
  • pepper
  • 1 tablespoon better than bouillon, beef flavor (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 8 -10 small potatoes, peeled, cut into quarters and cooked separately

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 325.
  • 2 place steak in a 9x13 baking dish.
  • 3 season both sides with the season salt and pepper.
  • 4 distribute vegetables evenly over meat.
  • 5 pour broth over contents.
  • 6 cover with foil tightly and bake for 2 1/2 hours.
  • 7 when done remove the meat mixture to a serving platter and keep warm.
  • 8 pour broth into a sauce pan and heat to simmer.
  • 9 mix together the cornstarch and water.
  • 10 pour into heated broth and whisk until slightly thickened.
  • 11 add the beef flavoring if using and continue whisking until desolved.
  • 12 serve along with the potatoes.
