Ingredients

- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 3 lbs sirloin steaks, 1-1/2 inches thick
- 2/3 cup soy sauce
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup cooking sherry
- 1 medium gingerroot, grated (about 3 t.) or 3 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
Recipe
- 1 combine sugar and boiling water; cook and stir until sugar dissolves, creating a sugar-and-water syrup. you should have approximately 1/4 cup syrup.
- 2 cut sirloin in 1-1/2-inch cubes. marinate about 10 minutes in sauce made by combining sugar-and-water syrup with remaining ingredients.
- 3 thread on skewers. broil or grill about 7 minutes or until desired doneness. turn and brush frequently with sauce. heat remaining sauce and pass with beef.
