Hraimeh (spicy Libyan Fish)

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 lemon, juice of
  • 5 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground caraway
  • 2 teaspoons paprika (mix hot and sweet)
  • 4 (140 g) tuna steaks

Recipe

  • 1 mix oil, water, lemon juice, tomato puree, garlic, salt and spices.
  • 2 pour into a wide shallow pan and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • 3 add the fish and turn it over on both sides so it absorbs the sauce. cover and cook on a low heat for 15 minutes.
  • 4 sprinkle with parsley or coriander and serve.
