Lamb Chops Piquant

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 large lamb steaks
  • salt and pepper
  • 5 slices bacon, sliced in 1/4 inch pieces
  • 1 1/4 cups onions, chopped
  • 2 (4 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons paprika

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 season both sides of the lamb chops with salt and pepper.
  • 3 over high heat, sear the lamb chops on both sides. do not cook through.
  • 4 remove lamb for the pan and place in a baking dish. the chops should be snug, but not overlapping.
  • 5 remove any excess grease from the saute pan if needed.
  • 6 adjust heat to medium low.
  • 7 add the bacon and onions to the pan, and cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is transparent.
  • 8 add the mushrooms, ketchup, sour cream and paprkia. stir until all the sauce ingredients are combined, and the sour cream "melts".
  • 9 pour the sauce over the lamb chops.
  • 10 bake, covered, for 30 minutes.
  • 11 uncover, and bake for 10 minutes more, or until chops reach the desired degree of doneness.
