Lamb Chops Piquant

Ingredients
- 4 large lamb steaks
- salt and pepper
- 5 slices bacon, sliced in 1/4 inch pieces
- 1 1/4 cups onions, chopped
- 2 (4 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 pint sour cream
- 2 teaspoons paprika
Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 season both sides of the lamb chops with salt and pepper.
- 3 over high heat, sear the lamb chops on both sides. do not cook through.
- 4 remove lamb for the pan and place in a baking dish. the chops should be snug, but not overlapping.
- 5 remove any excess grease from the saute pan if needed.
- 6 adjust heat to medium low.
- 7 add the bacon and onions to the pan, and cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is transparent.
- 8 add the mushrooms, ketchup, sour cream and paprkia. stir until all the sauce ingredients are combined, and the sour cream "melts".
- 9 pour the sauce over the lamb chops.
- 10 bake, covered, for 30 minutes.
- 11 uncover, and bake for 10 minutes more, or until chops reach the desired degree of doneness.
