Savory Downeast Cod Steaks

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 cup canned oysters or 1 cup fresh oyster
  • 1 cup cracker crumb
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced parsley
  • 1/2 grated rind and lemon, juice of
  • 6 fresh cod steaks (any firm fish of choice)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 f degrees.
  • 2 drain oysters and reserve liquid.
  • 3 chop oysters and add to cracker crumbs, melted butter and seasonings.
  • 4 place cod steaks in a greased baking pan.
  • 5 spread mixture evenly over steaks.
  • 6 add enough water to oyster liquid to make a cup.
  • 7 pour liquid around fish.
  • 8 cover w/ oiled paper or any baking sheet available.
  • 9 bake 30 minutes covered.
  • 10 bake an additional 15 minutes uncovered.
