Swedish Hash (pytt I Panna)

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 cups chopped onions (about 2 medium)
  • 4 cups finely diced boiled potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 2 cups finely chopped leftover meat (or boiled ham or fried steak)

Recipe

  • 1 cut bacon with scissors directly into frying pan.
  • 2 when crisp, drain bacon on paper towels, leaving fat in pan.
  • 3 add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • 4 remove from pan.
  • 5 add potatoes into pan along with a little margarine if needed and fry til golden brown.
  • 6 sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • 7 add bacon, onions and meat to potatoes in pan.
  • 8 mix well, carefully turning with a spatula.
  • 9 serve piping hot.
