Lickety-split Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 1/2 lbs chuck eye steak
- 1 large yellow onion
- 1 teaspoon canola oil or 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1 can sliced mushroom
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 4 ounces sour cream
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 trim steak of excess fat.
- 2 slice into thin strips.
- 3 (this is easier if the steaks are partially frozen).
- 4 slice onion into thin rings.
- 5 brown steak strips and onion in oil.
- 6 season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 7 add mushrooms and mushroom soup.
- 8 stir, lower heat to medium and cover.
- 9 simmer for ten minutes.
- 10 add sour cream, stir.
- 11 serve over rice, small egg noodles or toast.
