Lolly's Cod Fish With Fennel Butter

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 6 cod steaks, each 3/4 inch thick
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 fennel bulb, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup dry wine
Recipe
- 1 preheat the broiler.
- 2 sprinkle the cod steaks with the salt and pepper and place them on a buttered baking sheet with a 1-inch rim.
- 3 place the fennel and butter in the bowl of a food processor.
- 4 process with the metal blade until smooth.
- 5 spread the fennel butter evenly over the six steaks.
- 6 pour the wine around them.
- 7 broil for 12 minutes. the fish should be cooked through, moist and flaky without turning it.
- 8 serve with the pan juices.
