Lolly's Cod Fish With Fennel Butter

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 6 cod steaks, each 3/4 inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 fennel bulb, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup dry wine

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the broiler.
  • 2 sprinkle the cod steaks with the salt and pepper and place them on a buttered baking sheet with a 1-inch rim.
  • 3 place the fennel and butter in the bowl of a food processor.
  • 4 process with the metal blade until smooth.
  • 5 spread the fennel butter evenly over the six steaks.
  • 6 pour the wine around them.
  • 7 broil for 12 minutes. the fish should be cooked through, moist and flaky without turning it.
  • 8 serve with the pan juices.
