Ingredients

- 4 boneless beef top loin steaks, cut 1 inch thick
- salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1 cup sliced bell pepper, red, green and yellow
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 -1 1/2 teaspoon snipped fresh oregano or 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
Recipe
- 1 sprinkle meat lightly with salt.
- 2 press pepper onto meat.
- 3 preheat broiler.
- 4 place meat on the unheated rack of a broiler pan.
- 5 broil 3 to 4 inches from the heat to desired doneness, turning once halfway through broiling.
- 6 allow 12 to 14 minutes for medium-rare (145 degrees f) or 15 to 18 minutes for medium doneness (160 degrees f).
- 7 meanwhile, in a large skillet cook sweet pepper strips and garlic in hot butter until tender.
- 8 stir in oregano.
- 9 spoon sweet pepper mixture over meat.
