Seared Tuna With Soba Noodles

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/4 lbs searing grade tuna steaks
  • 4 tablespoons sesame oil, divided
  • 12 ounces soba noodles
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 1/2 yellow bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 4 scallions, chopped
  • 1 avocado
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 2 teaspoons star anise

Recipe

  • 1 heat a non stick frying pan over high heat.
  • 2 as the pan is warming, using 1 tablespoon of oil, rub the tuna steaks on all sides. set aside.
  • 3 prepare the soba noodles according to instructions usually boiling for 5 minutes when done drain noodles and run under cold water.
  • 4 combine all the soy glaze ingredients in a large bowl, add remaining 3 tbspof sesame oil and whisk to combine.
  • 5 divide noodles among 4 bowels, sprinklethe sweet peppers and scallionsatop the noodles.
  • 6 pour the glaze over the noodles. thinly slice the tuna and divide among the 4 bowels.
