Light Chicken Fried Steak

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 12 ounces beef round steak, 3/4 inch thick,trimmed and cut into 4 pieces.
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
  • 6 ounces evaporated skim milk
  • 1 tablespoon flour

Recipe

  • 1 mix together 2 tablespoons flour and pepper.
  • 2 pound into meat with a meat cleaver.
  • 3 spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 4 heat to medium and brown beef on both sides.
  • 5 drain off fat if needed.
  • 6 add water and boullion to skillet and bring to a boil.
  • 7 reduce heat and simmer, covered 1 1/4 hours until meat is tender.
  • 8 remove meat and keep warm.
  • 9 in a bowl, gradually add skim milk to the flour and whisk until smooth.
  • 10 stir into the pan juices.
  • 11 cook until thickened and bubbly, and cook an additional minute.
  • 12 serve over meat.
