Steak In Pizzaiola Sauce

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb top round beef or 1 lb top sirloin steak, 1/4 inch thick,cut into 4 pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 -4 drops hot pepper sauce (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley

Recipe

  • 1 place oil and garlic in large skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until garlic is golden brown.
  • 2 press down on garlic to release juices, then discard garlic.
  • 3 add steaks to skillet and cook 1-2 minutes or until steaks are done, turning once.
  • 4 place steaks on serving platter.
  • 5 add tomatoes, oregano, salt and hot pepper sauce to skillet.
  • 6 bring to a boil.
  • 7 boil, stirring occasionally, 4-5 minutes or until sauce is slightly thickened.
  • 8 stir in parsley.
  • 9 pour sauce over steaks and serve.
