Sarasota's Favorite Horseradish Sauce

Total Time: 4 mins Preparation Time: 2 mins Cook Time: 2 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces sour cream (don't use low fat)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh grated horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated shallot
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce (i like to use a bit more, but start with 1 teaspoon and you can always add more)
  • 1/8-1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (i start with 1/8, depending on your taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard (optional)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup prepared hot horseradish sauce
  • 1/2 grated shallot
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard (optional)
  • salt
  • pepper

Recipe

  • 1 sauce #1 -- mix the sour cream, fresh grated horseradish, shallot, worcestershire, lemon juice, dijon, salt and pepper. chill for at least 1 hour. serve.
  • 2 sauce #2 -- because the prepared horseradish sauce already has some lemon and other ingredients for flavoring, i skip the worcestershire sauce, but you could always add some if you want. i also cut down the lemon as well, but i do use some for the freshness it offers.
  • 3 mix the sour cream, prepared horseradish sauce, shallot, lemon juice, dijon, salt and pepper. chill for at least 1 hour. serve.
  • 4 options -- i enjoy the mustard in mine, give it a try; you will not be disappointed. also, i always start with a small amount of lemon to start and you can always add more. this way you can taste as you go.
  • 5 serve -- with any of your favorite meats; prime rib, steak, lamb, lamb, or even over baked salmon. enjoy !
