Pan-fried Gaelic Steak

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 (8 ounce) sirloin steaks (room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1/4 cup irish whiskey
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • sea salt, to taste

Recipe

  • 1 dry the steaks with a paper towel and season them with the black pepper.
  • 2 heat butter& oil in a frying pan and add steaks.
  • 3 cook steaks on medium heat to your preferred doneness, turning over once half way through.
  • 4 remove steaks to a warm plate and pour off the fat from the pan.
  • 5 return pan to stove and add whiskey.
  • 6 stir, being sure to scrape up dripping from the pan bottom.
  • 7 reduce heat and add cream.
  • 8 simmer for few minutes, until the cream thickens.
  • 9 season sauce with salt and pepper, and pour over the steaks.
  • 10 serve immediately.
