Paprika Cream Schnitzel

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 1/2-2 lbs veal round steak, cut about 1/2 inch thick (cutlet)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup thick sour cream
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

Recipe

  • 1 mix salt and paprika together.
  • 2 cut veal into serving sized pieces.
  • 3 in a large heavy skillet, cook bacon till crisp.
  • 4 remove cooked bacon and set aside.
  • 5 add veal and onions to bacon drippings in skillet.
  • 6 brown veal on both sides and cook onion till soft.
  • 7 sprinkle with a mixture of salt and paprika.
  • 8 remove skillet from heat.
  • 9 pour the sour cream and tomato sauce over the meat, cover skillet and return to heat.
  • 10 simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes.
  • 11 garnish with reserved bacon pieces.
